Instructor/Choreographer (Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Streetdance)

Lisa has owned and operated Lisa's Dance Studio since 1987.  Her approach is to teach the basic fundamentals of traditional dance as well as today's contemporary styles.   As the first studio in the area to offer Street Dance and Video Jazz Classes, Lisa's Dance Studio has earned and maintains the reputation of being "the place to go" for up-to-date choreography.  Lisa's dancers are known for their highly energized routines and enthusiastic performances.   Her dance teams have won outstanding awards in ballet, tap, jazz, street dance, video jazz, lyrical jazz, and modern jazz.  Lisa's vocal groups are always a crowd pleaser!  They have won numerous judges' awards along with the admiration of fellow competitors.  Prior to opening a studio, Lisa worked as a professional dancer, choreographer, and model.  She performed in numerous  shows including an opening act for Tom Jones, Studio 54, and the Boston Emmy Awards.  Lisa appeared in commercials, television shows, and numerous fashion shows.  Lisa has also worked in the Music Industry as a choreographer, performer, and manager.  It was her work with young recording artists that inspired her to start the vocal groups within the dance studio.  In addition to working with other choreographers and performers, Lisa regularly studies dance competitions and master teachers classes to keep up-to-date with the latest styles and techniques in the field of dance.

David began with us nine years ago, and, as a former Dance Team member, David won numerous medals and awards.  David will be leading our Jr. and Sr. Streetdance classes.

 

 

 
 

Laura Driscoll

Instructor/Choreographer (Streetdance, Musical Theatre)

Laura trained with Lisa's Dance Studio for over ten years and was an Assistant Teacher for two years.  As a member of the Competition Team, she won Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards. Laura is trained in multiple styles of dance, such as Ballet, Jazz, Vocal, Hip-Hop, and Musical Theater, and she shows promise to be a dynamic Instructor.  In her debut as an Instructor this year, she is eager to spread her enthusiasm for Hip-hop and Musical Theater.  Laura will be teaching our Friday Beginner Level Streetdance/Hip-hop and Musical Theatre Classes.

 

 

Colleen Edwards

Instructor/Choreographer (Ballet, Pointe)

Colleen was born in Boulder, Colorado where she began her dance career twenty years ago.  She studied and performed with the Boulder Ballet in works such as, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, as well as a premier of Bella Luna.  Colleen was also a founding Junior Company member of the Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet, which fueled her passion for choreography.  Colleen staged her first full length ballet, Oasis, in 2004, and that same year was commissioned by the Boulder Ballet to choreograph a new work for their BBII, Juliet.  Colleen attended the prestigious Boston Conservatory, where she furthered her dance education and earned her B.F.A. in dance performance.  She studied pedagogy with Donna Silva, and began teaching.  Colleen has taught Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, and Contemporary Ballet in cities around the country such as Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia, Yorktown,  New York, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Colleen has performed High School Musical 2, in New York, at the Yorktown Stage and the past year has been a company member with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theater, performing as a soloist in their Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou, and as the Winter Fairy in Cinderella.

 

 

Jaime Gallery

Instructor/Choreographer (Jazz, Musical Theatre, Streetdance, Vocals)

Jaime is a graduate of the Teacher Training course given by the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston.  A dynamic and energetic dancer, her love for dance is evident in her performances.  Jaime studied with the well-known and respected Jeannette Neill Dance Studio in Boston as well as admired Adrienne Hawkins of Impulse Dance Studio.  Prior to joining our faculty, Jaime instructed children and adults throughout the South Shore.  In addition to being a dynamic dancer and performer, Jaime is also an accomplished singer and songwriter.  Jaime teaches our Teen Jazz classes, our Dance Team Vocal Groups, and our Musical Theatre Teams.

 

 

  Amanda Jolly

Instructor/Choreographer
(Ballet, Tap, Jazz)

Amanda has been dancing since she was five years old, studying at local studios including Lisa's Dance Studio and The Jeanette Neil Dance Studio.  As a dance student, she won many regional awards and was a performer in numerous stagings of The Nutcracker.  She majored in Dance at Dean College and is working toward her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education at Quincy College.  Amanda will be teaching the Toddler, Pre-School, Kinderdance, and Beginner level Ballet, Tap, and Jazz classes.
 
 
 
 

Denise Lang

Instructor/Choreographer
(Tap) 

Denise studied tap, ballet, and jazz throughout her childhood, before turning to hip hop and stepping in college.  In her Junior and Senior years at Bryant, she became the president of the Rhythm and Pride Dance Troop.  Later, Denise studied multiple styles with Jeannette Neill as well as tap under Aaron Tolson, and danced for the past seven years with Julia Boynton.  Denise taught both children and adults in Boston, and she choreographed audition pieces for students applying to the Boston Arts Academy.  She was also a competitive artistic roller skater, and won a Bronze Medal at the Junior Olympic Nationals when she was 16.  In addition to this experience, Denise also volunteers as a Big Sister.  We are very excited to have this talented dancer and teacher as a member our faculty.  Denise teaches our Jr. and Sr. Tap Dance Teams.

 


 
 

Kaitlyn Mazzilli

Instructor/Choreographer (Ballet)

Kaitlyn recently graduated with honors from Trinity College earning a bachelor's degree in Theater & Dance and Psychology.  During that time, she joined the Trinity College Dance Company, a student-led modern dance troupe.  Inspired by connections between the mind and body, Kaitlyn is currently earning a master's degree in Dance Therapy with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University.  As an incoming intern at Wild Acre Inns, a residential home for adults with mental illnesses located in Lexington, Kaitlyn will be observing clinical treatment methods and utilizing the curative abilities of dance to supplement the therapeutic process.  She is excited to join the community at Lisa's Dance Studio and looks forward to teaching this year!

 

 

 
  Siobhan O'Brien

Instructor/Choreographer (Ballet, Pointe)

Siobhan was trained in the Cecchetti and Vagonova methods of ballet instruction.  She studied with Deborah Pinkney and Irene Merril on Cape Cod.  Siobhan taught ballet at the Falmouth and Barnstable Conservatory and she performed with the Mid-Cape Ballet.  In addition to ballet, Siobhan has been trained in Ballroom and Flamenco Dance.  She is a graceful dancer with beautiful lines and a love for teaching children.  Siobhan teaches the Intermediate and Advanced Ballet and Pointe classes as well as Kindergarten Ballet, Tap, and Jazz.

 

 

 
 

Ellen Hewer

Competition Coordinator/Class Supervisor

Ellen has been a familiar face at the studio for many years.  We are pleased to announce that she has taken over the position of Competition Coordinator.  Ellen's 14 years of dance training, combined with her organizational and planning skills, make her a great addition to our staff.  Ellen will also be assisting with class supervision.

 

 

 
 

Carrie Lott

Assistant Teacher/Class Supervisor

Carrie is a former student who trained with Lisa for eight years.  She was a member of the studio's first Dance Team in 1988 and was a member of the studio's first Vocal Group.  Carrie performed in numerous shows opening for Boston area Recording Artists, and competed in various competitions, consistently winning high score awards.  We are happy to announce that Carrie's love and passion for dance have brought her back to the Studio and she will be joining our team this year as an Assistant Teacher and Class Supervisor.

Mary is another familiar face to our dance families.  She will be joining our staff this year as a Class Supervisor and Office Assistant. 

 

 

 
 

Stephenson Cox II

Office Assistant

Stephenson is a psychology student at Eastern Nazarene College and a design graduate from the Antonelli Institute in Philadelphia, PA.  He joined our studio in August 2010 and plans on being with us until he graduates in 2013.  Stephenson will be assisting with the day to day operation of the Studio.
